Leavers Party

Primark Necklace
Friday officially marked the end of sixth form with our leavers party. I had such a fabulous time and it's safe to say that everyone looked fabulous. In contrast to our year 11 prom this one was not as formal so everyone was dressed quite casually and I wanted something that I can wear again so I bought this beauty from Missguided and I love it so much as it's simple but can be glammed up with a statement necklace. I got mine from Primark for £4 and received many compliments on it throughout the night. It's sad to think that this is the last time that I will see a lot of people but it equally signifies the end of an era and a new beginning.
Have you had a prom recently?

Sunday Post #8

So this week has been my first week blogging since I have finished my A-Levels and feels great to finally get back into blogging properly. This week I have tried to take as many pictures and write up as many blog posts as possible so I can keep on top of things and topped it all off with my sixth form leavers party/shindig/shenanigans which I will post about in the near future. Here is what I have been blogging this week:
Summer Essentials: Accessories - The second instalment of my summer essentials posts but this time it's accessories that complete my summer outfits.
Julep Plié Wand Launch - I was contacted by the lovely people are Julep to blog about the launch of the Plié wand which makes it so much easier to paint your nails as it gives you greater control over the brush and allows you to paint with your non-dominant hand - genius right?
T-shirt Dress and Sliders - Just a casual summer outfit featuring my bargain t-shirt dress from where else but Primark.
Summer Essentials: Fashion ft. - I was also contacted by to participate in their 'closet swap' campaign which looks at the transition to a summer wardrobe which fits in really well with my summer essentials series. In this post I talk about all of my fashion essentials for summer.
And that is all from this week - I hope you enjoyed it. Stay tuned this week for beauty, fashion and lifestyle posts.

Summer Essentials: Fashion ft.

For my final installment of my summer essentials I obviously had to do my essential clothing items for summer. recently contacted to participate in their 'Closet Swap' campaign which looks at how we change our wardrobe to get summer ready which fits in nicely with my summer essentials series.

Levi 501 Shorts  (similar)
Shorts: Shorts are probably the most obvious Summer essential and it's just what people do in the summer isn't it? The first sign of it being higher than 10 degrees and bam the shorts are out. These are by far my favourite pair of shorts as they are just so easy to wear and match with anything. They are Levis that I got from a 'vintage' shop (lets face it they probably aren't vintage) about 4 years ago but you can find them in any vintage shop or on ebay. They have become a little bit big for me but it's nothing a belt can't fix. Shorts are just something easy to shove on without having to worry about the wind blowing up your dress - they're the perfect go to item.
H&M Daisy Print Crop Top
Topshop Mint Crop Top (similar)
Crop Tops: I'm not a huge fan of baring all in summer as I feel a bit overexposed and self conscious. I tend to wear crop tops as they are smaller than your average top so you're not as hot and I wear them with high-waisted bottoms to cover up my belly because having my belly out isn't really a look I like all that much. You can buy crop tops anywhere and everywhere for very cheap. I have a variety from dasiy printed, striped, plain and cropped band t-shirts. They look good with most things particularly the Levi shorts.

Kimono: ah the good ol' kimono. These are so perfect for summer when it's a little bit cooler perhaps if you're out in the evening and if it turns out that you don't need it, you can roll it up and shove it in your bag because it's just so lightweight and a perfect alternative to a cardigan.

Primark T-Shirt Dress
T-shirt Dress: I didn't realise how much I needed a t-shirt dress until I bought one. They are amazing for when you think you're going to be too hot in all of your other clothes as it's just so light and comfortable and easy to just shove on. For me this summer the t-shirt dress is going to be my favourite casual look paired with different jewellery and a pair of sandals.

Primark Sliders
Sandals: If you regularly read my posts you will know that I wear boots all of the time but when it comes to summer, it hurts me to say it, but it's just too warm to wear boots and you need something to let your feet breathe. I usually find it really hard to find sandals that I like but this year I have already bought 2 pairs because of this Birkenstock/slider trend that's going on and I love them. I have them in black and white so they match with everything.
So these are my summer essentials and how I have updated my wardrobe for summer. If you're in need of summer 'closet swap' or wardrobe update head to where you can buy and sell gift cards for so many shops at a discounted price which you can then use to go and buy your summer essentials.
What are your summer wardrobe essentials?

T-shirt Dress and Sliders

T-shirt Dress - Primark (similar here)
 Necklace - Tentative Decisions
Bag - Primark
Sliders - H&M
You may be very shocked to actually see my bare-legged and without clear tights. You know it's warm when I 100% ditch the tights. I've always loved how other people look when they were big t-shirts as a dress but I have never really been able to pull it off because I am not exactly graceful and would definitely be prone to a lot of bum flashing which nobody wants to see - trust me. However I found this in Primark and it gives the same sort of look but it is specially designed so that you can wear it as a dress so it just has a nicer and more convenient fit. At £5 I couldn't resist. At first I was a bit unsure about the V-neck because I prefer to have my chest covered as, like I said, I'm not graceful so tend to flash my bra which some people don't like but this isn't too bad - no bra flashing as of yet.
I think this is going to be one of my most worn summer outfits as it's just so casual and light so I wont be too hot and uncomfortable.

Struggle Painting Your Nails? - Julep Plié Wand Launch

I have to admit that before I was contacted to blog about the launch of the Plié Wand I had never heard of it but now I am kind of thinking that these people are geniuses for designing this product. Julep's chief innovator, Jane Park (watch her video on the product here), designed this product with the struggles of polishing your nails in mind. They use the analogy of how hard it would be to write with a pen the size of a pen lid so why struggle to paint your nails in the same way? The Plié Wand allows you to comfortably paint your nails and also makes it a whole lot easier to paint with your non-dominant hand so you don't have one hand that looks like a toddler did it. This really is revolutionary stuff guys, I'm telling you. I have so many issues with painting with my dominant hand because I'm just not very careful but this allows you to have more control and therefore have perfectly polished nails and it's no longer seen as a chore.

If you've already heard about Julep you will be happy to know that the Plié Cap fits onto existing nail polishes. If you've not seen the range of polishes they have on offer I suggest you go and have a look because they literally have so many colours it is insane so you're bound to find what you're looking for and it has recently been updated with more colours for this summer. One of my favourite colours from their range is the shade hope which fits nicely with the white nail trend this summer.
Today is the official launch of the product and I was lucky enough to be asked to blog about it to tell my readers about the Plié Wand so that you can hear about it too! You can purchase the Plié Wand over on the Julep website.
Does this sound like a good product to you?

Summer Essentials: Accessories

In my second instalment of my summer essentials is accessories. In the summer it can sometimes be difficult to stay looking fab when all you really want to do is put on a little pair of shorts and a small top because it's far too hot. Instead I find that accessories are key for staying glam when it's hot as it just adds a little bit of something to your outfit.

First of all, what is summer without a statement necklace? I got this New Look Leaf Necklace (£7.99) for my birthday and I love how it can make a basic outfit look so much better with it's feathery/leafy style pendants which fits with the summer 'boho' (hate that term) or aztec trends and just completes the summer feel. When I am not really feeling the whole statement necklace vibe I opt for my crystal quartz necklace (similar here) from Tentative Decisions that I won the other year in a giveaway which is just simple but so pretty at the same time.
Sticking with the gold theme I love these gold rings from Primark and H&M which come in all different sizes and thicknesses to suit your preference. Whilst I might not be wearing these when it's seriously hot (i.e. sweaty fingers) they're just another easy way to add simple details to your summer outfit as do earrings. All year round I always forget to wear earrings but whenever I do I always choose my holographic earrings which I surprisingly bought from Superdrug in that random jewellery section. These are great for the summer as the holographic triangle shimmers in the sun which just makes your outfit a little bit more interesting.
Bracelets are another item that I often forget to wear but I love this Urban Outfitters cuff. I find it hard to wear as it's silver and, as you can tell, most of my other jewellery is gold, so it's hard to match it. However it's great to just shove on a go and looks perfect with a kimono and I love a good kimono.
Last but certainly not least are sunglasses - probably the summer essential as they look great but also serve a beneficial purpose of protecting your eyes which you should do if you're out in the sun for a long time. These are from Primark who offer a range of cheap but amazing sunglasses. As I need glasses and don't wear contacts (ew) I can't actually see out of these but prescription sunglasses are annoyingly expensive to say you will only wear them for a small part of the year so these Primark ones will do for now.
So that's it - my essential accessories for summer.
What are you must have accessories for summer?

Stripes and Leather

Top: H&M (old similar here) // Skirt - H&M (only £7) // Boots - Topshop // Rings - Primark

So this is the first outfit post I have blogged in what seems like a while and it's just something simple that I have been wearing lately. I admit I probably didn't need the tights but the skirt doesn't look that great on me without tights. I am loving stripes at the moment and want to own everything in stripes. I am currently eyeing up this striped tunic from Missguided. What do you guys think?

Farewell A-Levels

So today is the day I have been dreaming about for what seems like a lifetime. Yep that's right, today I completed my final a-level exam. I cannot express how happy I am to be able to do nothing and not feel guilty for not revising. However I do feel lost. I have been revising for the past 6 months and now it feels like second nature. I am so pleased to have finished because now I am intend to sort out everything I own and in my life in general beginning with my blog.
Although I was posting during exam time all of my posts had been pre-planned and scheduled but posts came to a halt last week when I had run out of scheduled posts. But have no fear I am back with a crazy amount of post ideas and as you may have noticed a new blog design which I have been working on alongside my last few weeks of revision.
So ladies and gentlemen - keep your eyes open because I am back properly to blog away. (until September at least).

Aromoatherapy Associates Hydrating Range

Aromatherapy Associates Hydrating Renewing Rose Cleanser £25
Aromatherapy Associates Hydrating Rose Face Mask £37
Aromatherapy Associates Hydrating Triple Rose Renewing Moisturiser £56

As you may have seen recently, Marie Clare have been had samples of the Aromatherapy Associates hydrating range free with one of their most recent issues and I snapped up the chance to try a new skincare range and I love a good freebie. I had never heard of this brand before so I did a bit of digging and it turns out that it is actually a pretty high end brand that specialises in aromatherapy spas located nationwide and in stores, including Liberty. Ooh fancy. I did also check out some of the prices and it is slightly (extremely) out of my price range but it did also increase my expectations of the quality of the products.
The cleanser is a sort of creamy cleanser and I decided to use it when double cleansing after using my Garnier Cleansing Micellar Water. You simply smooth of the face and leave it to settle for a minute and then wipe off with warm water, removing any remaining make up/dirt and unclogging your pores which it did pretty well. The face mask in contrast to the cleanser was more of a clear gel than a cream. Once again you simply smooth over your face. It recommends that you leave it for 10 minutes but I tend to leave face masks for a little longer to get the full impact. What I like about this is that you get that tight feeling that you get from face masks but it's not uncomfortably tight. After removing it with warm water it leaves your skin feeling refreshed and a lot smoother. Finally - the moisturiser. My expectancies of this were much higher than the other two products due to it's exceedingly high price. I find it hard to justify spending that much on shoes never mind a moisturiser. I must admit I was not disappointed. I decided to use this as an overnight moisturiser so I could leave for a few hours to do it's thang without sploshing loads of make up on top. In the morning my face felt what I can only describe as 'balanced' - it wasn't dry and it wasn't oily. Any uneven patches were now evenly smooth and my face just felt so much softer and I feel that it puts my ordinary moisturiser to shame.  I am actually so impressed with the moisturiser and if you have the sort of budget to pay for it then go for it. You will not regret it. A common factor of all three products was the smell. oh the smell. Roses. How heavenly? It wasn't so scented that it's irritating, it was just the right amount of smelliness.
Overall I was pretty impressed with all of the products especially the gorgeous smell and just how they manage to make my skin feel balanced and smooth. Although due to my unwillingness to spend that much money on skincare I wont be purchasing these products, if you can splash the cash I think it's a brand worth checking out.
What do you think of the brand?

L'Oréal Hair Expertise Ever Sleek Shampoo & Conditioner

I was running out of my usual shampoo and conditioner and was in need of something new so decided to purchase the L'Oreal Expertise Ever Sleek Shampoo and Conditioner which was on offer at my Local Tesco. They made it ever so difficult for me to choose the right one as they seem wholly incapable of putting the bottles next to the specially made signs telling you which hair type each product was designed for. I finally figured out that the ever sleek products are for normal-frizzy/coarse hair. I never really know what my hair type is but it does have a tendency to be a tad frizzy and snap quite easily so I thought this product would suit my hair well. Only after a few uses I have noticed a significant difference with it reducing the frizzyness and flyaways, which really bug me, and it leaves it feeling fluffier and stronger. The only issue I have, and it really is only a minor issue, is that the amazing smell of the product doesn't last for as long as I hoped. Despite this I generally think this product is pretty amazing and lives up to what it says, doing exactly what it says on the bottle and will definitely be repurchasing it when I'm all run out.
