Update: Out and About

Haven't I done well at blogging lots this week! Today I was meant to be revising seeing as I am 2 days behind my revision schedule but instead, seeing as it was lovely and sunshiney, I went on a walk to calf hey reservoir. We didn't go all the way down the lane to see the reservoir as there have been reports of snakes biting people down there and I would like to avoid that at all costs. On the way back we stopped at the pub where I treated myself and my sister to a glass of coke and we had a very windy sit in the beer garden.
As much fun as I had, it unfortunately means that I have to spend all of tomorrow revising when I would rather be blogging and spending time doing oh sweet nothing.
p.s this is my 200th post - woohoo!!

New In: Hair Products

Top: Tresemmé Keratin Smooth Shampoo and Conditioner
Bottom: Boots Coconut and Almond Leave-in Conditioner, VO5 Plump it up back combing dry shampoo
Over the past few weeks I have been tired of my hair being super soft one day and greasy the next and then my dry shampoo making my hair feeling groggy so I decided it was time to buy some new hair products.
Tresemmé Keratin Smooth shampoo and conditioner: I saw these in ASDA for £5 each but decided to wait and luckily they were £4.99 in Boots and on a buy get one free offer. I'm never really sure what my hair type is as it's not coloured, dry or damaged and I can rarely find products for normal hair that  I haven't already used. The Tresemmé Keratin Smooth is designed to control frizz, make your hair super soft and make it easier to style, which sounds good to me!
Coconut & Almond leave-in conditioner: I saw this whilst I was in boots and decided to buy it as it was only £1.39 and I have had my Aussie leave in conditioner for way too long and never use it. I must admit it was the fact that it was coconut that made me buy it because it smells amazing!
VO5 Plump it up dry backcomb spray : I have heard good things about this product and I really love my VO5 hairspray so hopefully this will be just as good. It's supposed to have the same effect as dry shampoo and back combing but hopefully without making it greasy and making me feel gross.
Once I have used this products over the next few weeks, I will do some reviews to tell you my thoughts and hopefully they will make my hair all soft and wonderful.
As you can tell I am playing about with adding things to photos - what do you think?

Kimono - Matalan // Crop top - Topshop // Shorts - Topshop // Sunglasses - Pound Shop // Boots - Doc Martens // Camera - Olympus Trip

2 days of sun in a row? Well done England! However I know 2 days of good weather is too much for you and it is going to rain for the next 2 days but who cares, I got to go outside without tights on.

I had a bit of a mare this morning because I didn't know what to wear and I just want new clothes! I was going to wear my white skater dress from Topshop but it is unbelievably see through so I may have to part with it *sobs*. Anyhow I ended up opting for this - pastels and kimono.  I love these shorts that I got from topshop last year, they're really soft but I accidently bought them in a size too big. They look great with the crop top too which I always reach for whenever it's sunny.

Today I popped back to Ramsbottom to go to the vintage fair which was much smaller than previous months but I think they're having council issues and it may not be on very regular so I wanted to go whilst I still can. I bought a lovely dress which I am sure you will see in future posts. I'm not really supposed to be spending my money because I am saving to go to Chester and York in the summer holidays but, hey it was only one dress.

1940's Weekend 2013

Cardigan - Tesco // Shirt - Primark // Skirt- Miss Selfridge // Shoes - New Look // Bag - Primark
So today I ventured out to the 1940's weekend in Ramsbottom with my Mom and sister. It's so much fun as everyone dresses up and takes part. I think this year is was much better than the 2 previous years that I have attended because it was sunny and much more was happening, including lots of vintage stalls, which I obviously enjoyed very much. We drifted around Ramsbottom looking in all of the charity shops and had a wander onto the platform, where there was a singer and war memorabilia (and suitcases).

I hope you're all having a fab weekend in the sun!!

Review: Revlon Photoready Foundation

I recently ran out of my Maybelline dream matte mousse, which I only bought because I was in desperate need, and I wanted to use a foundation that was actually good and not buying it simply because it was cheaper than all the others. I asked on twitter for some suggestions for a relatively cheap but good foundation and I was told about this one: Revlon Photoready. I got it in the shade 002 vanilla, the lightest shade obviously since I am a pale little ginger. It is also has SPF 20 (which I only just realised whilst looking at these photos) which is also helpful for protecting my skin in the summer since I don't like putting sun cream on my face.

At first, it doesn't really look as though the foundation has done anything, so me being me I put a little bit more on to ensure that it looks good. When it's 'settled in' a bit you can see that it actually gives a really good coverage, covering red patches which I have a lot of. However, it doesn't seem to cover freckles very well but I don't mind that. The foundation lasts throughout the day and stays looking the same.

Personally I don't like how the foundation looks with a loose powder on top so I prefer to use a pressed powder instead.

Anyway enough of the rambling on about it, here is what it looks like on:

Overall I am really impressed with this foundation and would buy it again, especially as it's only £9.99 (I think) which in comparison to all the 'top brand' foundations, isn't expensive at all.

Have any of you use Revlon Photoready foundation? What do you think?

This is what I wore on Sunday to go to the vintage fair however when we got there, it wasn't on which was very peculiar and disappointing. I know I have worn this top for three outfits in a row but whatcha gonna do?

Featuring Laura.

 Dress - Topshop // Necklace - New Look // Socks - Topshop // Shoes - Converse.

My 20 year old sister, Laura, wants to venture into world of blogging so I told her that I would take some outfit pictures and feature her in a post. She is like all new bloggers: terrible at posing but I am sure she'll get the hang of it (eventually). She normally dresses quite plainly but now she wants to venture into fashion and try new things.

She hasn't yet got a blog but you can follow her on twitter for now.
