Birthday Purchases

Kate Nash CD - That's Entertainment £8.99

Bra - H&M £7.99

SLR Film Camera - Antique Church £20
Dress - Topshop £38 (it looks nicer and less square on)
Necklace- Primark £4
Bra - American Apparel £16

Red Velvet Scrunchie - American Apparel £4.50

On Monday it was my birthday and I was given mainly money along with lots of lovely presents. Since I have finished for the Easter holidays I decided to go shopping with my sister. I am kind of disappointed that I didn't buy more but I am satisfied with what I have bought.

I was angry at HMV as they didn't have any of the CDs that I wanted and everything was such a mess. I understand that they might be going into administration but that doesn't mean that their shop should begin to look untidy, making it incredibly hard for me to find what I want. I gave up looking and went across the road to that's entertainment.

I am also really happy because I bought my first things ever from American Apparel. I could have bought loads more but stopped myself before I went silly. I was a bit unsure about posting the pictures of the bras but hey, everyone knows that girls wear bras so why is it such a big deal?

I am sorry for my blogging absence and I am sorry to say that it could continues to be like this until June *sobs* My exams begin on 13th May and finish on 5th June so before then and during that time I will be revising my bum off.

Have a nice Easter holiday!!! x

Kate Nash/Berlin 2013 by Peter Wafzig (source)
I haven't done an inspiration post in ages, mainly because I forget to go on Tumblr and Pinterest but I finally have and found lots of things that I like.

1) I'm not one to follow designers as I am more of a high street girl but I love Meadham Kirchhoff collections. Rookie often get to go behind scenes and see collections and I always love them! You can see them here.

2) The second picture is something that is becoming more relevant to me as I keep finding myself agreeing with feminist view points.

3) This brings me onto good old Frida Kahlo. I never used to know who she was properly until I read this article on Rookie and ever since I have loved her. It is said that she had an affair witch Leon Trotsky and it made me incredibly happy to see that she appeared in a video we were watching in history - sad I know. I love her, her art and her amazing floral pieces.

4) On pinterest, I have a special board for history pictures - this may seem sad but I don't care. I love history. Anyway I came across this picture of Peterhof Palace in St. Petersburg in the snow. It is just such a beautiful picture. Everything is white and gold and there are fountains and huge gardens and it is just amazing. If you look here, you will able to see how HUGE and pretty it is.

5) I have always admired Marina Diamandis' style and I am so jealous of her hair.

6) Kate Nash is one of those people who I have loved since I was like 12. I remember buying one of her first albums from HMV along with the second paramour album. Her music style has changed over the years but I still love her and she follows me on twitter which obviously made me extremely happy.

Week in photos #22

Top psychology student (only half of my revision) // had my hair straight for  a whole week opposed to my usual wavy self // long hair! // OOTD // another OOTD ft. my paisley babies // my 'red' velvet cupcakes.... // OOTD post here // Nancy // snow? again? really?

I woke up this morning and there was a layer of snow on the ground. I really thought that we had already had our dolloping for the year but no. I went to Chester and came back all before 11:30am. It is not good.

This is my last full week before the holidays and I just hope that it passes quickly.

Casual Sixth Form Attire

Shirt - Matalan // Jumper - Matalan // Trousers - H&M // Shoes - New Look

I want to start taking my pictures outside so I took the opportunity to do so while my neighbours where out. However it began to rain as soon as I got outside which is just my luck really. You will also have to excuse the weird ribbon loop thingy on my shoulder in the last photo.

Anyway onto the outfit. Sometimes I can't be bothered finding something to wear to sixth form as I don't like repeating the same outfit time and time again so last week I opted for this. I love shirt and jumper combos, especially with skinny trousers. I should probably stop wearing these trousers because they are so faded now as I wear them all the time but I love them!

I should be doing more outfit posts outside because I will bribe my sister to take them for me as she  will be back from uni soon - woohoo! x

REVIEW: Topshop Moisturising Lipstick

I have wanted to buy a lipstick from Topshop for ages and I finally bought one in the shade Infrared which is a gorgeous reddy-orange shade. Topshop are really good for doing different colours compared to your usual high street brands.

The lipstick is quite sheer so I would recommend applying a few layers to make it look the best. TO begin with it is very moisturising but after a couple of hours it dries out and left my lips feeling quite dry. I noticed that it comes off quite easily too, especially when eating food, so you would need to apply it several times throughout the day to keep your lips moisturised and to keep the colour looking fab. I would expect it to be a bit better seeing as it was £9 which is 9 times more expensive than the MUA ones that I normally buy which are just as good as this. However I will continue to use it as the colour is lovely.
Here is what it looks like on:

A touch of neon

Jacket - Primark // T-shirt - topshop // skirt - H&M // shoes - topshop // bracelet - H&M // ring - topshop // lipstick - Topshop in Infrared

I went a little bit OTT with the photos today and took quite a few but hey ho. Blogger is being super annoying and when I click on my photos to move them about it wont let me so they aren't in the order that I want.

Anyway onto the outfit. What is better than buying new clothes? Wearing your new clothes in 1 outfit. I always feel so much better when I have bought new stuff and wear it all together. Is it just me? I like how the outfit is dark but with just a touch of neon, hence the title. I think sometimes people can go a bit over board with neon colours which is exactly what I was trying to avoid.

This is one of those outfits that I am going to be wearing constantly over the next few weeks because I love it, despite my mother commenting on the shortness of the skirt. But who cares? Today I am supposed to be doing lots of revision and making up for the fact that I wont  be able to do any on Wednesday or Thursday due to cake making for comic relief. However  I am really not motivated enough at the minute. I just want to sleeeep! x

The Clash

Faux Fur Coat - vintage // clash t-shirt - was my Dad's // cardigan - Tesco // jeans - primark // shoes- doc martens

I decided to venture out wearing my new faux fur coat despite the fact that it was raining and therefore could have gotten really soggy. I want to wear it at every possible opportunity that I have before it gets to warm to wear coats. I didn't want to rest of my outfit to be too dressy because I was only going to my local town with my Mom so I opted for jeans and band tee of course! I normally think that this t-shirt makes me look a bit frumpy but I liked the way that it looked today.

Unfortunately I am becoming swamped with doing homework and revision for upcoming exams which I am constantly being reminded that they are only 8-10 weeks away - eek! I am not looking forward to them in the slightest. I may be absent from all my bloggyness for little bit but I want to post at least one outfit post per week but if I don't get round to it please bear with me!

Have a lovely weekend and I hope that the weather doesn't meet the forecast's expectations of snow - I've had enough of it!

REVIEW: Skin Wisdom 2 in 1 cleanser and make up remover

A couple of months ago I was in desperate need for a new cleanser as mine had run out. My skin had gone all gross so I just bought this random one from Tesco. It is a 2 in 1 cleanser and make up remover. The make up remover can be seen in the bottle as a blue liquid which lies on top of the white liquid which is the cleanser. You shake it up to mix the two together and then apply.

The first thing I noticed about the product was that it is quite greasy. I don't know if make up remover products are supposed to be like that because this is the only one I have tried. Normally when I use cleanser it makes me face feel really fresh but as a result of the greasiness it kind of makes your skin feel groggy and masks the cleansed feeling. However it doesn't last that long so if you use toner afterwards the greasy feeling goes (if that makes sense).

That brings me onto my next point. As it is 2 in 1 you can't just cleanse your face with the product you always have to use the make up remover as well. In the morning you don't really need to use make remover (unless you don't take off your make up before bed) but sometimes I like to cleanse in the morning to get that fresh feeling. I therefore recommend that you have an extra cleanser use when you don't want to use the make up remover.

Despite this, I notice how good the product is when I stop using it. For example, I didn't take it with me when I went to Chester and my face eventually felt really gross and I was so happy when I used it again. I think that is often the case with a lot of products, you don't notice how much you need it until you run out or stop using it for a while.

I think the next time I buy cleanser and make up remover I will buy them as separate products to make life easier (or use make up remover wipes).

What cleansers and make up remover do you use?
